Nepal Trevel Insurance

Located at the foot of the mighty Himalayas, Nepal is the ideal destination for explorers and the adventure lover. Each year, thousands of travelers travel to small countries looking to climb, down lonely trails and mountain villages, rafting on turbulent rivers, cycling through scenic landscapes, or exploring and exploring their rich cultural heritage.

It has eight of the highest peaks in the world (eight thousand), including Mount Everest (888.8 meters), and several peaks around 7,000 meters, most of Nepal’s mountains covered by hills. While this provides a variety of channels for stimulators and adventure sports, one cannot ignore the risk of these emotions. There is always a risk of injury or accident. In the high and soaring climate in the mountains, there is always a chance of rock landslides, debris flow or avalanche. If you are climbing the peak, sometimes the weather is bad, the visibility is low, and you can be damaged, so that you cannot continue. Altitude also threatens your health. Most trekking in Nepal takes you to a height of 3,000 to 5,000 meters, with little air and less oxygen in the atmosphere. People who cannot cope with thin air suffer from altitude sickness or acute mountain sickness (AMS). Dizziness, shortness of breath, headache, and other symptoms are the prime issues regarding the altitude. If there is no treatment, you can lose your life.

Across the rugged terrain you will have the great challenge and suffering. In this case, evacuation by the air may be necessary. Evacuation is an expensive thing if you do not have travel insurance, you may not be able to pay. Traveling off the trip before traveling will protect you from such accidental costs. It wills also help you pay for medical expenses (if you are hospitalized while traveling), due to delays, strikes, lost luggage, natural disasters, and other additional costs. If you intend to visit Nepal, and do not show travel insurance you may not be fully protected. So we kindly suggest you to have the travel insurance from the authentic place.
Why is travel insurance important?
Every year thousands of tourists are having problems with their holidays abroad.
The right level of travel insurance is essential. If you are sick or accidentally out of the country, travel insurance can ensure that you get the best quality of care and, if necessary, you can travel home or better medical institutions. So we suggest you to have the travel insurance for the following reasons.
Travel Insurance Provides Medical Expense Protection
If you need medical care while traveling, if you do not have travel insurance, you may have to pay for the treatment. In many countries, the cost of medical care can be very expensive, daily hospitalization costs in Southeast Asia regularly exceed $ 800, US medical evacuation costs. Health insurance will not pay you or reimburse you for medical expenses abroad. So you need travel insurance.

Travel insurance can solve travel disruption

This is not a secret, when you travel, there are many under your control. The flight may be delayed and, if an emergency occurs, you may have to return home. Without travel insurance; your travel disruption can cause you to spend a lot of money. In many cases, you will lose your payment and pay a new booking fee.
Many travel insurance packages will provide you uncontrollable events so that you do not have to spend your money in case of a problem.
You can reimburse you for your loss and expenses
If your luggage is stolen, lost or damaged abroad, then you can lose it significantly .if you do not have travel insurance, you will be responsible for replacing your item. However, if you present the right insurance, you can reimburse you for your loss and expenses.

Best time and season for trekking in Nepal

Last Updated on January 19, 2022 by Treks Planner Nepal

trekking in nepalNepal is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world. Nepal Trekking Season generally is known best during two seasons, after falls and after the winter. Trekking can be commenced at any time of the year. Each season offers distinct attraction. However there are two major aspects that you rely on when you decide to go to Nepal considering crowds and weather. The better the weather, the more people visit Nepal to go for trekking. The following month from September to mid of December is considered ever best season of trekking in Himalayas. During this time the days have pleasant climate condition not so hot and cold and visibility of mountain are crystal clear. This time is also known as tourist season in September and November, flights and hotels are fully booked and hotels and trails in the hills are awfully busy. Such times lie after falls and after the winter. There is another best season of trekking Nepal after winter when sun getting warmer in spring time trekkers to Himalayas can again enjoy comfortable climate condition. In spring season in Nepal many different types of flowers bloom both trees and ground and it is also the best time to climb up peaks for expedition. There are four seasons in Nepal. Each season have own distinct attraction to offer. The Nepal trekking season is classified as follows:

1. AUTUMN (Sept – Nov): This Autumn season is considered the best time for trekking in Nepal, which offers excellent weather and tantalizing mountain views. Moderate temperatures, clear sky with outstanding views, making it a great time to do any of our trek. Occasional short storms may dump snow at high altitudes. This autumn season is considered the best time for trekking in Nepal, which offers excellent weather and tantalizing mountain vista.
2. WINTER (Dec – Feb): This season is noted for occasional snowfall at higher elevations in Himalayas. Though it gets colder in night, often it offers the clear day / blue sky and relatively less trekkers on the trail. However, we need to be selective in choosing the winter trekking as climbing and crossing high passes trip won’t be an ideal option. Trek like Everest base camp, Annapurna Panorama, Annapurna Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Sanctuary, Instant Everest treks etc can be done even in winter.
3. Spring (March – May): Different varieties of wild flowers, specially the rhododendrons make the hillside a haunting paradise and the days are longer during this spring season. It is mildly warm at lower elevations and at higher elevation the mountain panorama is majestic and temperature is quite moderate.
4. Summer (Jun-Aug): Summer time from June till mid September makes travel wet and warm. These times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with wide range of flora and fauna and lush vegetation.
In brief, the most popular times with optimal trekking experiences are two peak seasons. The first peak season of the year is between late February – March – April (spring) and the second peak season of the year is between late September – October – November (autumn).Nepal trekking offers unexplainable and lifetime accomplishments during these seasons in Himalayas.

A Complete Guide To Upper Mustang Trek

Last Updated on June 19, 2018 by Treks Planner Nepal

Mustag NepalMustang is a part of Dhaulagiri Zone is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. Jomsom as its headquarters covers an area of 3,573 km² and has a population of 14,981 according to 2001 census. Mustang straddles the Himalayas and extends northward onto the Tibetan plateau. Upper Mustang, the former Lo Kingdom comprises the northern two-thirds of the Mustang district. This kingdom was a dependency of the Kingdom of Nepal but was abolished by the republican Government of Nepal on October 7, 2008. Mustang is a remote sub-kingdom within the Himalayan region of north-central Nepal. The name “Mustang” is derived from the Tibetan word meaning, “Plain of Aspiration”. The entire district lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area, the largest protected area in Nepal. The people of Mustang are ethnically Tibetan; the population is only about 15,000 totals. Most live along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, once a major trade route through this mountainous region. Untouched by modern civilization, isolated in its rugged mountain terrain, a way of life persists here in Mustang that is fast disappearing in Tibet proper.
Mustang, an isolated part of Nepal, has caves, hikes and royals. Sheltered by some of the world’s highest mountains, the 8000-meter peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, bordering China and the Tibetan plateau, Mustang is ancient forbidden kingdom, where strict regulation of travelers helped Tibetan traditions survive stronger than Tibet proper. Upper Mustang was a restricted demilitarized area until 1992, which makes it one of the most preserved regions in the world due to its relative isolation from the outside world, with a majority of the population still speaking traditional languages. The monarchy in Mustang ceased to exist on October 7, 2008, by order of the Government of Nepal, after Nepal became a federal democratic republic.Since Mustang is shadow of the Himalaya, Mustang has much less rain then the rest of Nepal. It is one of the few places in the world that has long-lived and a very close-niche life, as it has remained inaccessible to outsiders. This isolation helped the people of Mustang to maintain their lifestyle and heritage that remained almost unchanged for centuries. Hidden behind the majestic Himalayan ranges of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, Mustang is filled with beautiful trekking zones. The tourists require permits to visit this region. Mustang where lies the ancient Buddhist kingdom of Lomanthang. Trekking in Mustang gives you a similar feeling of trekking in Tibet.
Mustang trekking is one of Nepal’s most mysterious and least known kingdoms, where we can explore a weird and wonderful landscape of eroded conglomerate cliffs, colored by natural earth pigments – reds, yellows, browns and blues. It has a wireless station, a police station, a bank, a hospital and a veterinary hospital. A company of the Nepalese Army is stationed here. Nearby is an airfield, from where flights operate regularly. However, due to the strong winds that buffet the area in the afternoons, the airfield is functional only in the forenoon. Jomsom is served by 6-8 flights a day. Regular visitors know that the flights are dependent on weather conditions. Though this is a remote area, private initiative in the form of many domestic airlines operates frequent flights to the area. Flight reliability and frequency are generally higher to Jomsom than to any other remote area in Nepal. It offers you harsh climatic conditions, glaring sun during the day, heavy winds and cold nights. This is a unique experience for the more than 50,000 visitors to Jomsom in a year – most of them repeat visitors.

The following are the Useful tips for trekking in Nepal

1. Plan the proper date
Whether you are planning your own trip or travel arrangements, be sure to schedule for 2-3 days earlier. Internal flights in Lukla, Jomsom, Pokhara, Taplejung and other parts of Nepal can be delayed and canceled. The last thing you need is to miss the international contact of Kathmandu! By adding a few extra days, you can be sure of having some energy before flying long distances. A great advantage of working through travel agencies is that they (in your name) can help you book the next flight to Kathmandu. Remember: if your flight is canceled in one day, it will not be given priority on the second day
2. Local guides and porters
If you go trekking at Everest or Annapurna you do not need any local guide. Your travel company will arranged you all sorts of the facilities while booking your trip. The routes are quite famous in these areas and there are many other hikers on these routes if you need help. Local guides can add a sense of connection and regional understanding and when using porters, you only have to make a package of approximately 12 to 15 kg per day. If you are on your first trek in Nepal, it may be worth the help of these experienced locals, and the additional cost is insignificant in relation to the hard work they do. They believe on the hard work, respect and honesty.

3. Sherpa
“Sherpa” is actually a Nepalese caste. In general, they are Buddhist devotees, they even have their own language, similar to Tibet (but without written form). The people who help hikers to climb the mountain are not all the Sherpas . However, many tour guides and shippers fall into this category, since the Sherpa agreements have historically come from high altitudes (and, therefore, are well adapted to the environment). They have glorious history in the mountain.

4. Yaks
These furry beasts over 10,000 feet (3,000 meters) are plentiful. These loaded animals get up, transporting goods at high altitudes and farming in rural areas. Some of these animals are not always yaks. The short-haired race found on the Namche Bazaar trail in Khumbu is actually an artificial cow / yak hybrid “dzomo”. The higher living yaks are very clever. When they are on a hiking trail, everyone can have huge horns. Keep ample parking space and always keep the road uphill trying to pass . Listen to the next yak tones and pay attention to a lot of yak dung!

5. Drinking water
During the most popular trek, you can buy bottled water along the line (ie the Everest base camp, the Annapurna circuit, the Annapurna protected area …). Many villages now have water purification stations where you can fill water bottles for $ 0.5 and keep them in plastic. Bottled water is sold in every hut, teahouse and store. Usually $ 1.00 per liter bottle. On these trips, water filters and water purification pills are not really necessary. During the walk in remote areas, the chef’s staff will boil the water while camping. It is recommended that you bring two bottles of water or a large hydration bladder full in the camp. When camping, the thermos is also a good place to stay warm at night.

Buddhist traditions on the road
Most of the trekking will enter a region of greater Buddhism. The first sign of their entry into a Buddhist village are the colorful prayer flags that plow through the houses, the monasteries and the peaks in the wind. You will also reach the stupa (Buddhist shrine), the walls of Mani (Sanskrit mantras on large stone walls and slate) or the long walls of prayer wheels. Always walking through these religious monuments on the left is a sign of custom and respect.
Acute mountain sickness (AMS)
AMS is a big problems for new hikers at relatively high altitudes. How is your body responding? Are you sick? Since it is difficult for most of us to train and prepare at that level, it is a real concern for everyone, but without any undue attention. One of the most irregular elements of the Everest region is its weather. If you’re not properly prepared for the unpredictable conditions that are likely to occur in this majestic region, you might find yourself in an uncomfortable and unpleasant situation. Usually, the nights are much cooler and very favorable than the daytime hours in the Everest region. Many first-time trekkers are surprised to learn about the incredible range that may occur in a given day. During the day, the thermometer normally shows the temperature as high as 25 degrees Celsius, and can decrease down as low as -20 degrees Celsius in less than 24 hours. There’s no absolute way to know exactly what each day in the mountains will bring but the weather and temperature ranges are likely to be slightly predictable based on the month and season. You have to learn about weather forecasts and properly understand the meaning of those forecasts before you decide to venture off into the mountains. Given the fact that Everest base camp climate is very low, it is not the biggest issue every climber faces. The biggest issue faced by those climbers is the occasional forceful hurricane winds that will start developing and have a rate of development of at least 285 km every hour. These scary winds are not as forceful and wild during the month May, which makes it the ideal short time for the maximum of the climbers to try and climb the Everest summit.
The weather and climate Everest region is one of extremes. Temperatures at the summit are never above freezing and during January temperatures can drop as low as -60° C (-76° F). Despite the low temperatures the biggest issue faced by climbers are hurricane force winds and wind chill. When the jet stream dips south during the winter hurricane force winds may develop reaching more than 285 km/h (177 mph). These winds relax in the month of May and most climbers try to attempt the peak during this short window. The weather varies from one season to another in Everest base camp region.
.Winter Weather at Everest: Winter weather (Nov to Feb) is dominated by the southward migration of the northern hemisphere jet stream which brings high winds, cold temperatures and on occasion heavy snow falls. Winter can be a great time for trekking as the crowds trying to avoid the cold clear out. Day temperatures are comfortable and sunny skies generally prevail although it can get well below freezing at night. The cold and dark winter season at the Everest base camp region starts in late November and lasts up to the end of February.
. Spring (pre Monsoon) Weather: March until the unset of the Monsoon is one of the ideal times to trek. Spring happens to be one of the best times of the year to visit the Everest region, although this can create unnecessary and uneasy crowd at the region. Rain is infrequent and day temperatures are warm. Lots of trekkers and climbers are out in t-shirts. During springtime, the average temperature is 17 degrees Celsius with a maximum of 25 degrees Celsius during sunny days and a minimum of -15 degrees C in the morning and at night for areas above 4000 meters.
. Monsoon Season Everest: The summer weather (June to Sept) is influenced by the Indian Monsoon which brings frequent rainfall and cloudy days. You might find solitude during this time but clouds and rain generally obscure the peaks and it’s not a good time to visit.
. Fall Weather (post Monsoon): The Fall season from the end of the Monsoon until temperatures get cold in December is a great time for trekking with generally clear days and comfortable temperatures.
After all the perfect timing and recommended travel to this region is between June and September as once the monsoon sets in as generally cloudy weather and rain obscure the peaks and you might be lucky to even see mighty Everest. The Everest base camp trek is full of pain and pleasure ahead. The amazing accomplishments of the trek will make you forget all the pain and difficulties during the trek.

Annapurna Base Camp Weather and Altitude Factor

Last Updated on December 18, 2017 by Treks Planner Nepal

annapurna base camp weather and altitudeAnnapurna Base Camp is also quite a bit lower in elevation 4,130m vs. 5,380m or about 4000 feet difference so if you anticipate problems with altitude it might be the better trek. The Everest trek is also colder and drier because of the higher elevations. So, considering that the village of Nayapul, at the start of the Annapurna Sanctuary trek, is at 1060m and the highest point of the trek, Annapurna Base Camp, is at 4130m, you could expect an average temperature drop of around 19˚C or 10˚F. And that’s not accounting for more unpredictable weather at higher altitude.
The altitude climb is gradual and the height of the base camp of Annapurna is only 4,130 meters/13,549 feet allows a fairly easy acclimatization. A good Sherpa guide is far from essential for this trek. You will find fantastic local Sherpa guide for this trek. You also must have to beware of the altitude sickness; it may arrive at a certain altitude. Some people begin to experience headaches and nausea. If this happens, the Sherpa guide and staff helps you out until the symptoms subside, it is important to follow Sherpa guide advice & some steps uphill over 3,000 meters, the body often needs a little time to get used to and one should not ignore the symptoms of altitude sickness if they appear. To protect from high-altitude sickness if tourists walk slowly and steadily with many breaks on the way to trek they can acclimatize easily and the trek will be easy. The Annapurna region tends to get more snowfall and because the trail to Annapurna Base Camp lies low in the canyon it is susceptible to avalanches coming from the peaks above. Avalanches are not normally an issue but it’s certainly something one should be thinking of if you’re visiting during a period of heavy snow. The weather in Annapurna base camp varies from one season to another.
During the spring (Mar-Apr), the day starts nice and clear but progressively gets windier and cloudier which leads to frequent afternoon showers. The landscape seems to be newly designed and lush.
Monsoon seasons signals a grinding halt to the trekking sector of Annapurna region but in contrast, the wildlife are in full vigor. Wild flowers eagerly anticipate the monsoon, Himalayan Tahrs get busy tending to their newborns and Himalayan Monals work hard displaying to prospective mates. The whole land rejuvenates during Monsoon season which ends in September.
When September rolls around, the clouds leave their hold of the sky creating a perfect backdrop of clear and blue skies. The mountains wake up from their deep slumber during Monsoon season and display their full bloom of beauty. This makes for a perfect trekking season up until November a bit crowdy.
By December, winter is in full swing with occasional heavy snow. Since there are a lot less people and more wildlife, it is a perfect time to trek for the prepared. However, caution must be exercised to its fullest to prepare completely for the winter weatherperson of the Himalayas.
It is possible to do this trek in all seasons; however, in the winter the Base Camp can sometimes be closed due to the snow level. In spring time the huge rhododendron forests are in full bloom which gives the trek an extra appeal. Despite various difficulties Annapurna base camp is a lifetime achievement and full of unexplainable accomplishments.
