Everest Luxury Trek – 12 days

Day 01 - Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Meals included: Dinner

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. And the night you will be spending at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Note: If you happen to arrive after 4 pm you would be briefed about the trip by our guide, this will be the pre-trip meeting for you, so please make sure that you ask all the questions. But if you arrive earlier than 4 pm, your pre-trip meeting would be on that very day at our office. During the meeting, we will introduce your trek leader/guide. For the meeting, please make sure you bring the passport, three copies of passport-size photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.

Day 02: Guided Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley

Total duration: 4-5 hours

After a hearty breakfast, at 8.30 am your sightseeing trip will start. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. Today you will visit some heritages listed below:

Pashupatinath Temple:  Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Though you are not allowed to go inside the temple as it is strictly for Hindus only, you can clearly see the temple and the activities from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. It is a square two-tiered pagoda temple built on a single-tier plinth which is famous all over the world.

Boudhanath Stupa: Boudhananath is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. It was built in the 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going round the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth and Palace of 55 windows.

The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in Thamel area for trekking essentials.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla and trek to Monjo (2840m) (Flight: 30 minutes)

Total duration: 3-4 hours

As per your flight schedule to Lukla you will be transferred to airport in a private vehicle. Thirty minutes flight to Lukla is one of the most thrilling flights, especially the landing moment. At the airport, your trek guide will take the total care of you. He will brief you about the trek which will kick off in few minutes. You will be trekking along the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding. Beyond Phakding the trial goes up north to Dudh Koshi valley. The trial chases the amusing course alongside the DudhKoshi River then climbs to the village of Chumao. Passing the sparsely populated Sherpa hamlets and the magnificent woods of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs the trail sharply slides down to big valley of Monjo and at this point the trek officially enters to Sagarmatha National Park on the first trekking day.   It is a short trek of 3-4 hours to begin your trekking adventure. Overnight at local lodge in Monjo.

Day 4: Trek to Namche (3440 m)

Total duration: 5-6 hours

Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Early morning after the breakfast you will resume your trek. You will have your lunch in one of the tea houses on the way to Namche. Beyond the park entrance in Monjo the trial goes through steep rock-strewn descent to large farm and in a while you will arrive at Jorsale 2850m. Several steep descents and ascents after Jorsale will finally bring you to the Sherpa capital Namche 3450m. Overnight at local lodge in Namche.

Day 5: Rest day at Namche (3440 m)

Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Rest days while you are trek are especially designed to allow you to acclimatize properly. So, we recommend you to hike around Namche rather than staying with the coffee or beers in a restaurant in Namche. Ask your guide who will help you exactly what to do on that particular day so that you will be acclimatizing well. Overnight  in Namche

Day 6: Trek to Tashinga (3450 m)

Total duration: 5-6 hours

Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today, you will set out your journey to Tashinga via Khumjung. . The shorter trail that goes to Khumjung climbs through the lush rhododendron forest. An hour climb beyond the forest will take you to Shyangboche (3700m). A beautifully located Sherpa village in Khumbu, Syangboche has the airport which is one of the high altitude airports of the world and highest of Nepal.  Beyond Syangboche the trail slides up to cross passes a yak farm and a Buddhist stupa. Breathtaking views of the Everest, Lhotse and Amadablam throughout trial will bring you to the final descent which continues to Khumjung and Sanasa before reaching Tashinga. Spend Overnight at Tashinga.

Day 7: Excursion trip to Tengboche, back to Tashinga. (3860 m)

Total duration: 4-5 hours

Trek begins walking down through rhododendron forest to the Dudh Koshi. Crossing a suspension bridge, almost two and half hours of up climb walk along the lush vegetation will bring you to Tengboche. Tengboche is renowned for its celebrated monastery, which is the largest in the entire Khumbu Region. The view of Mt. Amadablam as a backdrop of Tengboche Monastery is so far the most enchanting view from Tengboche. Also, the scenic view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam rising in the closer scope is equally amazing. Spend you valuable time exploring the surrounding and retrace back to Tashinga for overnight stay.

Day 08: Trek to Mende via Khumjung (3736m)

Total duration: 3-4 hours

Following the Khumjung village trail, and exploring monastery at Khumjung where Yeti Scalp is displayed, you will walk up to the Bhote Koshi valley which leads to Renjola Pass are amazing, since today you have behind the normal Everest Base Camp trial.  You will walk along the broad dusty and rocky trials. As you walk more, the rural life starts getting unfold and the rawness of nature gets even rawer. After descending down to Bhote Koshi River, a steep up climb will finally bring you to Mende. Mende is a stopover point for the Tibetan traders who get to Namche crossing Nangma La Pass. Mende also known as Thame is also a popular destination for mountaineering activities with Mountain Training Schools. Thame Gompa, situated above the village overlooking the valley is the site for the spring celebrations of the Mani Rimdu festival.

Day 09: Trek to Monjo (2656 m)

Total duration: 3-4 hours

Exploring the Himalayan culture and lifestyle, you will descend down to Monjo via Namche. Traversing the rhododendron and magnolia forests exploring the monasteries at village like Namche you will be once again arrive to Monjo. Spend overnight at Mountain lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Lukla (2840m)

Total duration: 4-5 hours

Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

 Yet again, trek through Dudh Koshi valley and retrace your path along Monjo and Phakding to reach to Lukla. On the way recall, the trek to Namche from Lukla was over 10 hours and took two hard days to complete. Now the reverse trek from Namche to Lukla is just 6-8 hours consuming simple single day. Congratulations your trek was amazingly perfect. At the end of Day 10, you arrive at Lukla and your trek concludes.

Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu (1350m)

Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

As per your flight schedule you will board the twin otter plane and fly back to Kathmandu. At Kathmandu, like in earlier occasion you will be received by a company representative and a driver. You will be escorted to your hotel room.  Evening time, we invite you for farewell dinner at authentic restaurant. You can share your experience, feedback us and give us a chance to make your evening a wonderful time. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12: Depart Kathmandu (1350m)

Our tour officer will pick you up from your hotel three hours prior to your departure time. You will be escorted in a private vehicle to the airport for your final departure. Have a safe flight home.

2. Standard twin-sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu including breakfast.

7. Your travel insurance that covers Helicopter evacuation.
8. Medical expenses and trip cancellation. 
9. Any other extended trips and accommodation.
10. Tips of the guide, porters and driver as a token of appreciation. 
11. Monument entrance fee for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu.
12. Any other expenses or charges that are not mentioned in “cost includes” list. 
13. Nepal arrival visa.

Passport and Visas:
First, be sure you have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from return date.  You can obtain visas for Nepal from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or up on arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Nepalese visas cost USD 25 for 15 days and USD 40 for 30 days till date.

Get the required visa for Nepal.
You can get Nepal visa prior to arrival from the Nepalese Embassy at your home country. Likewise, you can easily get an up on arrival visa at Kathmandu airport and other different borders from Nepal. Bring Official Papers
Some of the required official documents are your valid passport, 4 extra passport sized photographs (for trekking permits), travel insurance, airline tickets and luggage tags. Visas can be obtained upon entry into Nepal. For detail information we request you to visit our visa page.

Money & Credit card Info
We find that most of the credit card, master and visa card is blocked from your card provider. It may be because of a security reason. It, sometimes, may bring you in problematic situation that you can't get money from ATMs and that you find difficult to pay for your treks and tour. To find yourself free from this problem, you can call to your card provider before you travel to Nepal and inform there that you are traveling to Nepal. Ensure them to give the authorization for the payment. In Nepal you have to pay 3.5 % credit card commission s per Nepal Bank rules, on top of your payable amount for the trek cost.  So, please be sure that you bring some cash in USD to pay us. Likewise, be sure you have brought some small amount for your daily expenses as well as for those items which are not included in our cost. We request you not to change money in the Airport. The exchange rate is very low there. Our office provides you the facility to change your money. Or, you can take help from Money Changers in Thamel.

Travel Insurance:
Our clients must have comprehensive travel insurance package. Their insurance must cover against medical, personal accident, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, lost of gears, natural calamity, theft of or damage to baggage etc.

Who can trek?
No special degree of fitness is required and that there is no age barrier. However, in the areas over 3000m altitude, extra care should be taken. One can trek who have strong legs and the spirit for adventure to explore the exotic will enjoy the thrills of trekking in the hills of Nepal. Clothing and Equipment for Traveling in Nepal
Trekking in the Himalayas need to arrangement of equipment as you have to find yourself comfortable at higher altitude. The basic clothing item that you are expected to be prepared with are well described here. Remember that excess baggage is likely to be a burden for yourself and your supporting staff. "Pack light, but pack right", is our motto. Buying and Renting Equipment in Kathmandu
It is not really necessary to spend large amount of money buying extra equipment and clothing prior to your trip. It is because most of the trekking equipment can be hired from many adventure shops within Kathmandu. Most of the gear is locally manufactured (hence a lot cheaper). Some Chinese gear are likely to be more expensive but qualitative. Sleeping bag and down jacket are easily rented. Each item can be rented for less than USD 1, for a day. You have to manage other items buying them yourself. However, these items are more likely to be cheaper than those in your hometown. We will arrange all the necessary items you need on the second day of your arrival. 

Vaccination for Nepal
All travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities) For traveling to Nepal; we recommend you to take a vaccination of Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies etc, it is not really must but recommended.

How to Book
While you chose which trip you wanted to go with, contact us to our head office Thamel Kathmandu Nepal by mail or phone, email is more easy and clear options, as soon as we get your email or call we will process for your booking. We need 20% booking amount to confirm your booking, the payment can be made through the Bank transfer, Credit card payment (Master/Visa card) or through online money transfers also Money Gram, Western Unions or others. After we get the 20% amount we will confirm your booking and you will get the official booking and payment receipt. The final balance for the tour will be paid up on arrival in Kathmandu.
