Trip Introduction

Annapurna Panorama Trek – 10 days trek taking to the rim of Annapurna region witnessing fabulous views of snowcapped mountains strike with sunrays from Poon Hill. This low altitude trek to the Annapurna foothill is a panoramically attention-grabbing trek chock-full with magnificent Himalayan views along the dense tropical vegetation. Outstanding cultural display of Gurung ethnics which is specifically designed for the cultural enthusiasts and the family is welcoming. The trek slots in enough time in the traditional villages for the cultural outlook. Every campsite on the trek is full of life; you have plenty of options to join the crew and the villagers and get involved in the activities like dancing, singing and playing. During the visit the local schools and markets, you will experience the cultural horizon at these localities display immense variations to the urban cities of Nepal.

During the trek, you get to go through the magnificent oak and rhododendron forests as you come up to alpine meadows that give the spectacular views of the Annapurna Range. The pre-dawn trek to Poonhill from Ghorepani is simply a mind-blowing trek. Poonhill, one of the best Himalayan view-points of the world offer the golden panoramas of Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and other Himalayan giants glittering with the first ray of sun falling upon them. The sunrise would never look so beautiful once you witness it from Poonhill. The popular vantage point of Poon Hill is at an altitude of 3193 meters. Poonhill is the most visited trekking destination of Nepal because of the magnificent sunrise view that complements mesmerizing sight of the Himalayan range. The completion of the trek will make you an admirer of nature and the places you have visited during the trek will long last in your memories.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. 

Note: If you happen to arrive after 4 pm you would be briefed about the trip by our guide, this will be the pre-trip meeting for you, so please make sure that you ask all the questions. But if you arrive earlier than 4 pm, your pre-trip meeting would be on that very day at our office. During the meeting, we will introduce your trek leader/guide. For the meeting, please make sure you bring the passport, three copies of passport-size photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.

Day 02: Rest Day

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (823 m)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast

Early morning, after breakfast, catch the Tourist bus or we can also organize a private vehicle for you. Viewing countryside villages, farm, shops, and river, you will reach Pokhara. A beautiful place with tremendous views of mountains and lakes. You can also go for Boating at Fewa Lake. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul, trek to Hile (1430 m)
Total duration: 3-4 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

After breakfast, you will have a short drive on the narrow and snaky mountainous highway viewing the green valley and rural life. Within an hour of drive, you will reach Nayapul, and starts the trek in the Annapurna region. It will be an easy walk for around 3 and half hours to reach Hille. Following a trail alongside Modi River, you will reach Birethanti. It is a junction of two rivers, Modi and Bhurungdi. Please check your ACAP and TIMS card, otherwise, you can issue here that allows you to trek further. Now, you will walk following the Burungdi River enjoying the beautiful forest, waterfalls, and locals, arrive at Hille. You will view the admirable culture and ancient style of terraces farming. Spend overnight at the local lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2860 m)
Total duration: 6-7 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today, you will be walking for a long time in an uphill trail. Walking for a while you will cross a suspension bridge over Burungdi Khola and gradually climbs over the steep stone steps hill. Continuously walking uphill for hours, you will reach hilltop ridge Ulleri. Here, you will have lunch and spend your valuable time taking picturesque views of the Himalayas and the valley. Beyond Ulleri, the trail traverses along the gradual uphill and downhill climbs most of the times winds through the cool shade of forest and gushing streams. You will walk in the midst of the giant rhododendron forest cross pass small villages with few teahouses like Banthati and finally reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani- Deurali is a busy spot on a ridge in the midst of the beautiful rhododendron forest, offering fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. Overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 06: Early Morning excursion to Poon hill (3210 m); Trek to Tadapani (2,600m)
Total duration: 6-7 hours

Day 07: Trek Tadapani to Ghandruk, Overnight at local lodge. (1,990 m)
Total duration: 3-4 hours

Enjoy breakfast with the sparkling sunrise views over the mountains- Mt. Annapurna south, Himchuli & Fishtail that seems very close from Tadapani. After the breakfast, the Annapurna Panorama Trek resumes. Today you will trek throughout winds downhill through the dense forest of rhododendron. 3-4 hours of a trek from Tadapani brings us at Ghandruk. Ghandruk is one of the biggest Gurung villages of Annapurna Region. It is an impressive Gurung village. Explore remaining time to around the village to see typical Gurung culture, visit the Gurung museum and hike around the hills nearby Ghandruk. Spend overnight at the local lodge.

Day 08: Trek Ghandruk to Birethanti Nayapul drive to Pokhara, (823m)
Total duration: 4-5 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Descend down all the way to Khimche on the long series of stone steps. While descending down witness the different view of Mt. Fishtail. Beyond Kimche the walk is pleasant most of the way following the Riverside till Birethanthi. From Birethanti, trek on the retracing trail to Nayapul. You will be picked up by a private vehicle at Nayapul and drive back to the hotel in Pokhara. Explore the streets of Pokhara in the evening, release all your trek exhaustion and enjoy. Spend overnight at local lodge.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu
Meals Included: Breakfast

Now, it’s a time to return back to Kathmandu. You will drive back to Kathmandu. Spend your time as you like. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 10: Departure
Meals Included: Breakfast

It is the last day with us. Our supporting team will takes you to the airport for your final departure. We hope to see you again. Additionally, if you have a plan of any adjoining trip, you can let us to organize.

Physical Condition and requirement

Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes, however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness, have a positive attitude, self-confidence, and strong determination, we can accomplish the trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is important that we consult with our doctor before we decide and set up for the Annapurna Panorama Trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Treks Planner Nepal before booking the trek.

Trekking in the Himalayan region goes through unexpected complication like natural and health challenges resulting changes in the itinerary for your own security reason, If such incident happens during the trek our professional Guide, Porters and leader take you to final point safely for evacuation so, please be friendly with your guide for more achievements and protections. Flights in the Himalayan region often get canceled even in the best season due to bad weather so we request our travelers to carry luggage for extra days.
