Trip Introduction

Pikey is situated in the Lower region of Solukhumbu district at an altitude of 4070 m. From Pikey peak, one can get the grand view of nature, can experience the traditional livings of different ethnic groups like Sherpa, Chhetri, Tamang, and Gurung. One can taste the varieties of local cuisines and observe some rare plants, animals and the best view of the highest peak of the world Mt. Everest in the short trek.

From Pikey peak, one can get the grand view of mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri, Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, AmaDamlam, Lhotse, Nupatse, Numbur, Gaurisankhar, Langtang to the far west. Additionally, Pikey peak rewards tourists with one of the best sunrises and sunset views. It offers dense forests of Sunpati, Pine, Rhododendron whereas attraction of birds and animals like Lophophorus, Crimson Horned Pheasant, tiger, wild bear, Panda, Ghoral and so on. Similarly, Chauri Ghai, Nak, yak, and cow can be found anywhere in this area.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap
Altitude: 2,900m | Drive: 7-8 hrs | Meal: BLD

Early in the morning, we'll drive from Kathmandu to Dhap in a jeep. Before arriving in Dhap, we will travel a long (8–9 hours) distance through a number of villages, rivers, forested areas, and hills. Overnight at a nearby village in Dhap.

Day 03: Trek to Jhapre
Altitude: 2,930m | Trek:7-8hrs | Meal: BLD

We'll start our beautiful journey toward Japre. The breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan range will be visible after a few of hours. Finally, we will reach Jhapre, where there is a stunning view of Mount Everest.

Day 04: Trek to Pikey Base Camp
Altitude:3640m | Trek: 7-8hrs | Meal: BLD

We'll leave Jiprey and head toward Pikey Peak. As we continue to glide past the rhododendron forest, we will continue to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains. If you take this trip in the spring, the entire region will be covered in blossoming flowers.

Day 05:  Trek  to Pikey Peak (4070 m) – Jase Bhanjyang
Altitude: 4070 m | Trek: 4-5 hrs | Meal: BLD

We will leave early in the morning towards the Pikey Peak (4070 m) top in order to see the magnificent sunrise above the Himalaya. To reach the top, it will take around an hour. You can see Mt. Everest, Makalu, Gaurishanker, Lhotse, Nuptse, AmaDablam, Nuptse, Kanchenjunga, Langtang, and Dhaulagiri from the summit. It's worthwhile to spend some time there and take some great pictures. We'll return to the resort later for breakfast before continuing our journey to Jase Bhanjyang.

Day 06: Trek to Junbesi
Altitude: 2680m | Trek: 6-7 | Meal: BLD

We'll trek to Junbesi. Before arriving in Junbesi, a well-known village in the area, you will walk via a number of lovely villages and Buddhist monasteries;

Day 07: Trek to Phaplu
Trek: 5-6 hrs | Meal: BLD

We will walk from Chiwang Monastery to Phaplu. Another well-known Buddhist landmark in the area with a long history is the Monastery. A grand celebration will take place during the Mani Rimdu festival, and many monks and followers will travel to Chiwang Monastery. We will then proceed to walk down to Phaplu where we will spend the night before taking a drive to Kathmandu the following day;

Day 08: Phaplu to Kathmandu

We'll take the drive back to Kathmandu after breakfast. You can reach Kathmandu by driving in 8 or 9 hours. You will have some leisure after you get to Kathmandu.

  • Basic guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms.
